Multiple Effect Systems:
Multiple Effect (ME) gets its name from the fact that more than one boiling chamber is being used to produce the distilled water. Norland's ME systems utilize from two to six boiling chambers. ME systems dramatically reduce the cost per gallon of distilled water. The more effects (or boiling chambers) utilized, the more efficient and inexpensive the production becomes.

• Norland 500 = 6 chambers = 6x savings
